How To Navigate Online Courses and Use Online Courses

Using These Courses For CE Credit

The procedure for using the online courses for CE credit varies state to state -- check out your state page at the beginning of any course from your state for details.

Table of Contents

A variety of navigation and help links are available from the table of contents.  Note that you will not be able to access all links in the table of contents initially.  As you complete the course, more and more links will become available so you can review the course content.

Navigation

To navigate throughout the course, button/links are provided at the top and bottom of each page:

  • Back - go back 1 page
  • Next/Continue - go forward 1 page
  • Index - go to the table of contents for the course
  • Subject - go to the first page of the current topic

Other Notes On Navigation

To comply with some states regulations, this course utilizes a sequential navigation scheme.  This means you cannot view later sections until the current section is complete.  Once you complete the review questions at the end of your current section, the next section will become available.  You may review previous material at any time.

While it is possible to jump around within a section, it is advised that you study each page in order. This is to ensure you fully understand each concept, and do not miss any topics.  You must study each topic before you will be allowed to use the review questions.

Review Questions
At the end of each chapter there is a set of review questions.  All these questions must be answered and submitted before you can move on to the next section. The question are multiple choice and relate exclusively to the section they follow, and you may review the course to answer them. The answers and a short review are provided as a follow up.

Bookmarks
It would be very inconvenient if every time you time you left and came back to use the course, you had to start over.  That's why we've added an automatic book marking feature, where the last page you visited is stored.  You don't have to do anything to use this feature -- it's done automatically.

In most cases, your bookmarks will be good for one month.  If you visit again within that month, your book mark will be updated, and it will be good for another month.

NOTE: If you browse the Internet a lot (over different 300 sites) without revisiting the course, it is possible to lose your bookmark.  This is due to the limitations of your web browser.  To avoid this, simply visit the course and bookmarked page, and your bookmark will be updated.
